Your financial data belongs exclusively to you. ETP — Expenses Tracker and Planner is engineered with a local-first philosophy: you can track your daily transactions, plan budgets, and manage savings without requiring an account or transmitting data to external servers.
Information We Collect
ETP is designed to assist you in monitoring personal and household finances. To provide core functionality and optimal budgeting experiences, the application processes the following types of information:
Transaction amounts, payment categories, dates, custom notes, payment methods (cash/card/UPI), and optional receipts attached by you.
Monthly spending limits, category allocations, savings targets, and financial goal projections that you configure.
Currency selection (e.g. INR ₹, USD $, EUR €), light/dark display theme, language choice, and notification frequency settings.
Non-identifiable hardware model and operating system version used solely for performance tuning, crash troubleshooting, and layout scaling.
How Your Data Is Stored
We adhere strictly to a Local-First Storage architecture. By default, 100% of your financial records are maintained on your local device storage:
- Local Isolation: Your expense history, category breakdowns, and budgets remain on your phone's sandbox. We operate zero central databases storing your individual transactions.
- Optional Cloud Backup: If you explicitly choose to activate cloud backup/sync features, your backup archives are encrypted using AES-256 standard encryption both in transit and at rest.
- No Backdoor Access: Neither the developers nor unauthorized third parties have access to your local SQLite database or stored receipts.
Data Security Measures
We take comprehensive administrative and technical measures to protect your personal financial records against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration:
Sensitive database files and cache entries are encrypted using native Android/iOS security modules.
Optional biometric authentication (fingerprint recognition, face unlock, or custom security PIN) to prevent unauthorized local app opens.
No behavioral profiling, ad tracking beacons, or cross-app identifier sharing is implemented in ETP.
Regular dependency audits and prompt release patches for all third-party SDKs and platform updates.

ETP integrates a minimal number of trusted industry-standard infrastructure providers strictly for technical stability and app store compliance:

Zero Sale Commitment: We never sell, lease, trade, or distribute your personal contact information or financial logs to brokers or advertising networks.
Permissions We Request
ETP requests only the minimal permissions required to deliver requested features. All permissions can be granted or revoked at any time via your device settings:

Your Rights and Data Control
You retain absolute sovereignty over all information logged within ETP:
- Data Portability & Export: Export your complete transaction history, categories, and account ledgers in standard CSV or formatted PDF format at any time.
- Complete Permanent Deletion: You can permanently wipe all local database entries, custom categories, and cached receipts from within the app settings via the "Clear All Data" utility.
- Granular Revocation: Disable cloud sync, biometric lock, SMS detection, or notification alerts individually at any point.
- Full Transparency: Every record stored by the application is visible, editable, and manageable directly in the app interface.
Children's Privacy
ETP is designed for general audiences and is not directed towards children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal identifying information from children. If you become aware that a minor has provided information without parental consent, please contact us and we will promptly purge the data.
Changes to This Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect app improvements, legislative adjustments, or platform policy updates. When changes are made:
- The updated policy will be published on this URL with a revised Effective Date.
- For material updates affecting data handling, we will display an in-app update banner upon your next application launch.
- Continued use of ETP after modifications constitutes acknowledgement of the updated terms.
